When we moved in to our home back in March we already hated this gate they had on the deck. I know the previous owners had a small dog, so they installed this easily and cheaply to keep her safe but she was ugly and increasingly difficult to use.
One day, I finally had enough of the old girl and I removed all the hardware. Now, I had no gate to keep our 2 year old safe on the deck so I had no choice but get a new one done and quick!
I quickly drew up a simple plan and figured I'd used some cheap pine because it was light and well, cheap. I had some leftover stain from the play structure and a large box of screws so I was good to go.
Here are some pictures I took along the way! I am sure you will agree, this looks way better than that horrendous beast we had before!
